Kara Spencer is Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative's eighth president and CEO.
Prior to joining Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative, Spencer served as Executive Vice President and CEO of Salem Electric Power Cooperative, a position she held since 2014.
Karas’ educational and executive accomplishments include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Master’s degree in Engineering with business emphasis, both earned from the University of Oregon. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon and has completed the Reactor Technology Course for Utility Executives.
An Oregon native, Kara is married; the mother of 2 sons, active in her church, and volunteers with several organizations including the United Way and the American Heart Association.
