1988

  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative continues to grow through strategic acquisitions, joining forces with Douglas Electric Cooperative. This collaboration expands the cooperative’s footprint to serve Douglas County, further strengthening its commitment to member communities.

1995

  • A new era begins as Central Electric Cooperative becomes part of the Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative family. This addition significantly expands the cooperative’s service territory, benefiting residents and businesses in central Oregon.

2003

  • Consumers Power Inc joins Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative, enhancing the cooperative’s capacity to meet the energy needs of residents and businesses in Marion and Polk Counties, Oregon.

2007

  • In line with its commitment to sustainability, Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative embarks on an ambitious plan to phase out coal-fired power plants, prioritizing cleaner energy sources.
  • The cooperative invests in solar and wind power projects, harnessing the abundant renewable resources of the region.

2008

  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative executed an agreement to buy 50% of the output of Klondike Wind Farm in Sherman County.

2010

  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative expands its reach to the southern coast of Oregon by welcoming Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative as a new member. This collaboration ensures reliable electricity service for members in Coos and Curry Counties.

2013

  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative’s latest wind contract is with Stateline Wind Project in Umatilla County.

2019 & 2020

  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative and EDF Renewables North America entered a partnership to develop and build a portfolio of 12 distributed solar projects.

  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative reaches another milestone by welcoming West Oregon Electric Cooperative as a member. This expansion bolsters the cooperative’s ability to provide dependable power to members in Clatsop, Columbia, and Washington Counties.
  • Laurelhurst G&T Cooperative announced a goal to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, with an interim goal to reduce its carbon intensity by 50% from 2005 levels by 2030.
